Being Licensed to Ride One of Our Scooters
There are three main ways to be licensed for one of our scooters, by having the endorsement on your driving license already, by completing a compulsory basic training course or though a motorcycle license.
Already licensed to ride a scooter
If you passed your driving test before 1st February 2001 you likely already have the AM endorsement on your license, allowing you to drive a scooter with a top speed of 28mph without any learner plates. You can check if you have the AM endorsement on your license here.
Compulsory Basic Training
Compulsory basic training is a half/one day course (typically costing £40-£100) which lets you ride any motorcycle up to 125cc (including this scooter) for two years with learner plates. You can keep taking this course every two years indefinitely, or you can progress to a motorcycle license. You can find a course near you here, although it is typically worth looking at online reviews for courses first.
Motorcycle License
If you want to remove the learner plates you can get a motorcycle license. The costs are relatively high due to the amount of training involved (typically several hundred pounds for a package including a few days training and the two tests). You can get a license for different powered motorcycles (AM license for anything up to 50cc, A1 for anything up to 125cc, A2 for anything up to 35kW and A for unrestricted). The test standard is same, the only difference being the power of the motorcycle you take the test on.
