Getting insurance for your citycoco
You've done the work, got your scooter and its registered with numberplates. How do you get it insured?
There are a couple of issues. Firstly that many insurers may not have heard of your scooter model and secondly that a newly registered scooter will take some time to show up on insurers databases (depending on how frequently they update their database from the DVLA).
The answer to both these issues is to call the insurer up, most will have the ability to add models not in their database manually as well as manually add registrations that have not been copied over from the DVLA yet.
Two insurers that customers have had success with (and good prices from) are Lexham and Bikesure. Prices seem to be roughly in the range of £80 to £250, but this obviously depends on a wide variety of factors. You can normally save by paying upfront rather than monthly. Typically addons offered by insurers represent poor value for money, but depending on your situation may be worth it.
